Mr. Miyagi’s is a fully licensed, ridiculously expensive, Asian street-food themed restaurant on Level 9 of the Media One Hotel in Dubai Media City. Its funky, fun interior looks like an Asianized version of Zaroob.
Mr. Miyagi’s menu is a hodgepodge of popular Asian favourites, like the Peking Duck and Singapore Noodles we ordered. We also got the Beef Short Rib Char Siu; which incidentally, was the only one of the trio we really liked.
The noodles they served us were good but had very little resemblance to the Singaporean classic upon which it was based. The duck was a dry-to-the bone nightmare. Inexcusable for a dish costing AED165 was that they served it to us with readymade pancakes – boo!
The excellent, super friendly service makes up for the very average food…somewhat, but when you factor in the cost, Mr. Miyagi’s makes very little sense. Our simple lunch for two cost us a whopping AED500+ (with tip), and that’s without booze. Bear in mind, for that money one could easily have a business lunch at Zuma or Roberto’s in DIFC.
