Markette is one of the best East meets West restaurants in Dubai. Located near the aquarium, on the ground level of Dubai Mall, it’s easy to find, but busy, busy all the time. The charming interior has a casual, brasserie style look-feel, with ceiling fans adding a colonial, far eastern touch.
The Markette menu is a hodgepodge of dishes from all over the world, most notably Indonesian (where the owner is from) and Italian. I enjoyed the Butter Chicken at their baby branch in Box Park, and was equally impressed with the Twice Cooked Ox Tail, as well as the Mamma Mia Burger (Mamma Mia! a reference to its ginormous size not Italian origin).
But it was the must-try Classic Cheesecake which really blew us away – delicious. The food in general is really good.
Service is super friendly and accommodating. This is a restaurant I shall return to for sure. If you haven’t already tried it, I strongly recommend you do.
