Bait Misk is a Lebanese restaurant. It is also one of Dubai’s best kept secrets. The whole of the Jumeirah Fishing Harbour is really; it’s a picturesque fishing harbour postcard. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, with an obvious bias towards its location. At this time of year the little veranda it shares with stable mate, Mint Leaf, makes for the most delightful setting for a meal, lunch or dinner.
The food at Bait Misk is very, very good. The mezza, cold or hot, is amazing. I particularly liked Baba Ghanoush (cold) and the Sujuk Sausages (hot) – both were exceptional.
Located in this beautiful fishermen’s enclave, I found it contradictory that the restaurant’s signature dish was its mixed meat grill. We ordered seafood. I had the Grilled Hamour Fillet with a Tahina and Lemon sauce, and my sister had the Grilled Jumbo Shrimps; both excellent although I preferred the fish.
Service is outstanding. The young Egyptian waiter, Ahmed Majdy, who tended our table was exemplary; friendly, polite and hugely accommodating. And our table was visited by the manager, Noemi, no less than twice during our meal – a sign of the importance they put on customer satisfaction. I have been to few restaurants which offer such a delightful saisfying culinary experience, from location to food to service. Bait Misk, well worth a detour.
