Lila is a modern, whitewashed café and shisha restaurant located in the lobby of the MNC Hive building in Barsha Heights (previously Tecom). It’s become something of a favourite lunch spot for personnel and employees of the many offices in the area, as well as an after-work shisha hang out joint. Of course, residents simply call it a shisha hang out joint.
Lila offers a hearty, value for money lunch buffet. For your Dhs45 you get a decent buffet including soup, salad, a meat, chicken and/or fish dish, veggies, rice, pasta, bread and a soft drink. Pretty good value, and possibly one of the reasons for Lila’s popularity. The food is actually quite good, in a comfort food kind of way. I’ve eaten at Lila twice and on both occasions come away happily stuffed.
Service is surprisingly friendly and accommodating, making Lila a prime contender for lunch in the area. The only let down in all honesty is the nightmare you go through finding a place to park. But this applies to almost all F&B outlets outside hotels.
