I never thought I’d say this but Latitude, my family’s favourite buffet in Dubai, has got some really serious competition on its hands. And Anise at the InterContinental Festival City is one of the main contenders for Latitude’s crown. I had my eyebrows in a perpetual state of wow! throughout my walkabout of their expansive buffet, followed by OMG! throughout my meal. And we’re not just talking Las Vegas style quantitative shock-n-awe, which indecently there was plenty of; this was pure and simply Dubai style, OOT, 5-star quality.
Live cooking stations? Ha! These guys have complete live kitchens, with a carvery for the meats, and Indian and Asian sections which could probably shame many dedicated restaurants on their own. The salads and starters are as amazing as the desserts are sinful.
Service is the other thing about Anise which is 5-star. My guests and I were pampered from the minute we walked in to the minute we left. So if you don’t mind the trek out to Festival City, visit this restaurant – it’ll make your trip out worth your while. And me? I’m looking forward to our next family reunion to bring the gang in to see what they think. Actually, I’ll be back at the first excuse I get…
