Soleto Grilled Burgers is a small burger joint on Beach Road, Jumeirah 3. Two things differentiate it from most others, namely that it is open 24-hours and, possibly as a consequence, that it has a (small) section dedicated to breakfasts. Oh, and they serve Lavazza coffee, be it from a push button, table top vending machine (really guys?).
Well, it just so happened that I was looking for a place to have an early morning breakfast and seeing signs of life inside the restaurant, pulled up to see if they could help me find something where Zomato had failed. And that’s how I ended up at Soleto’s.
Although behind-the-cash-counter Filipino dude John, and I-forgot-his-name Indian chef insisted I try their meat Solo or Solo X, I wanted to try something from their breakfast menu and ordered a Solo Spanish instead. It turned out to be something like a Spanish omelette in a bun with a generous helping of Mayo. And you know what? It was not at all bad. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves here, I’ll still take a McDonald’s Egg McMuffin over their omelette burger any day but this was a very decent alternative.
Service was brilliant for 07:00 in the morning, the two (quite obviously bored and lonely) lads keeping me entertained with stories of some of the funnier things that go bump in the night. But all in all, and although I did not try one of their mainstream burgers, I got the impression this place was not on par with some of the amazing new, home-grown burger joints along this very strip, Moylo’s and Falla in particular.
